It's Concert Time!

Well, this post isn't really about going anywhere particular, but I thought I would write it anyways!

As many of you may already know, I'm in the midst of organizing a concert at church (Kirtland Christian Fellowship). It's been a lot of (sometimes stressful) fun so far, and it's getting even crazier in the best way possible now that it's only a little over a month away! This event kind of just happened. I was wondering how much it would cost to bring them in for a show, my dad suggested I call their booking agent and ask, and then one thing led to another, and on Saturday October 4th, they'll be performing in Kirtland, Ohio!

I definitely wouldn't be able to plan this event without the help and support of so many people from my church. It's been great talking with people about different plans. Setting up the ticketing online was a bit of a hassle, but thanks to the church secretary, Patty, everything got sorted, and tickets are available for sale online too. Whew! One thing checked off the list!

The concert is actually going to be a benefit as well for a new after-care home in India. It's in partnership with the International Justice Mission, an anti-human trafficking organization, as well as another after-care home called Mahima Home. Mahima Home is the home that girls go right after being rescued where they learn basic life skills as well as trade skills: cooking, sewing, etc. Mahima Home also helps girls to find work after leaving the sex industry, and that's where the new home comes in. The new home is known as Ashrai Home, and it's a transitional home of sorts. It's a safe place for rescued girls to live while they are looking for work or after they've found work but haven't saved enough to live on their own yet. Ashrai Home was just opened earlier this year, so it's definitely in need of financial support, but also more importantly, prayer. There will be a love offering taken at the concert, and 100% of that money will be going to the new Ashrai Home. Really, this whole concert is in support of the two after-care homes.

But anyways, I would greatly appreciate it if you kept me and my unofficial planning team in prayer, that all the planning will continue to go smoothly. Also pray for the Mahima Home and the Ashrai Home and the girls that live in these homes!

Thanks everybody!

(We only have 27 VIP tickets available! VIP passes will get you into the church earlier than the General Admission as well as an hour to hang out with Anthem Lights before the show!)

If you would like to help out with the event, I am in need of a few helpers as well! Helpers will have to be 16 or older, and to have already purchased a GA ticket or VIP ticket.

I'm looking for one, possibly two people who would be willing to cook for about 10-15 people for meals the day of the concert. (You do not have to purchase a ticket to help out with meals! But, obviously, you're free to purchase tickets and come!)&

I'm looking for three people to help with the Anthem Lights merch table! (*You must be 18 or older.*)

I'm also looking for two to four people to help sell refreshments! (*You must be 16 or older.*)

Also looking for two people to help with event check-in/ticketing. (*You must be 18 or older.*)

If you're interested in helping, please contact me at { leanna.p.french@gmail.com }
